Spring Will Come

Spring Will Come 1 Framed

My neighbor tells me that “Spring will come,”
but the view from my window doesn’t look reassuring.

Spring Will Come.

Yes, I believe Spring will come, but my Hope is not based on her words or my wishful thinking. My Hope comes from the Promise of God and his faithful change of the seasons since Noah came off of the ark. (Genesis 8:22)

 Spring Will Come

Sometimes we find ourselves in a season of barrenness. Life seems bleak, without color and joy. From where we are viewing our life, we have no reason to hope for a new season. Usually, the passage of time, and God’s strength cycles us through these seasons of despair. We enter a new season of  purpose, and life bursts with beauty and joy again.

 Spring Will Come

Eventually, however, most of us will come to a time when we must accept that this desolate and perhaps painful season will never change again to spring in our lifetime. Our next season will be spent in eternity.

 Spring Will Come

Our Hope of entering a joyous eternal Season of Life is not based on desire or assurances from a friend or neighbor. No matter how good a life we have lived and how much we are loved, no one can “wish us” or “hope for us” an entry into the Season of Eternal Life.

Our Hope of eternal life is based on God’s Word,
and his faithfulness to keep his unchanging promises.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them  (John 3:36)

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. (John 6:40)

God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
(I John 5:11)
