While we strain to spot the antichrist in
Tattooed numbers
Implanted microchips
World leaders and
Global economics

the spirit of the antichrist has nosed into our lives unnoticed. Although the man of lawlessness  has not been revealed, the spirit of the antichrist is already with us.

As we drowsily watch for signs of impending doom,  the spirit of the antichrist quietly edges farther into the tent, trampling the Name of Jesus Christ and pushing all reminders of Christ out of nations, governments, communities, schools, churches, homes and individual lives.

“Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist – denying the Father and the Son… Every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”    (I John 2:22; 4:3)

The Chisel

Although it won’t be pleasant

Your handiwork

So that when You take me from the shelf of earthly life

You can flick away the shavings

Brush away the lingering sawdust

And say

“Yes! Yes! This is what I had in mind for your life.”

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  (Ephesians 2:10)

“Throughout our days-year after year-the lifelong quest for character development goes on.  While we wait, God works.  So let’s not grow weary.  The more He hammers and files, shapes and chisels, the more we are being conformed in the image of His Son.” Charles Swindoll

Measuring Stick

Measure SignPostsOnHighTrails

How easy to compare our spiritual stature with those around us:
family, friends, even church leaders.

When we compare ourselves among ourselves, we all look pretty good. We may not be spiritual giants, but we are above average.

Measuring ourselves against each other gives us false assurance that we are spiritually strong.

“Weaker” Christians abound, to whom we can compare ourselves.

Your Word, though, informs us that measuring ourselves by ourselves and comparing ourselves with ourselves is not wise.
(II Corinthians 10:12)

God uses one measuring stick
